The FloorRank editorial standard
Six signals behind every ranking
There's no single magic number. We weigh six independent signals for every crew, in every system, in every market. What comes out is the FloorRank Score.
Reputation
Review depth, ratings and sentiment across Google, the BBB and the trades, weighted for volume and recency. Three five-star reviews isn't a reputation.
Project volume
How much real work a crew actually puts down. A shop that's pouring hundreds of floors a year has already proved it can schedule, staff and finish.
Specialization
Whether they've actually mastered the system you need. A metallic-epoxy artist and an industrial urethane-cement contractor aren't the same crew, and hiring one for the other's job is how floors fail.
Credentials
Licensing, insurance, manufacturer certifications, and the standards that get audited, like ANSI/ESD S20.20 on a static-control floor. If it isn't documented, it doesn't count.
Longevity
Years in business, and what happens when a floor goes wrong. Coatings fail slowly, so a crew that's stood behind its work for a decade is telling you something a new one can't.
Dispute history
Complaints, callbacks, and what they did about them. You're really hiring a crew for its worst day, not its best one.

We never invent a stat, a review count or a credential. If we can't trace it to a real source we leave it blank, because a number you can't check is worse than no number at all.
